Interesting, I have not seen this movie and yet it looks pretty old, maybe 80s?

Jesus must have suffered a great deal, maybe more than any other human being. But since he is in the same time God (e.g. John 10:30: 'I and [my] Father are one'), he was able to persevere and die in this horrible death that was prophesized before His coming.

I don't think that I would be able to suffer like this myself. I live in a Jewish area here in London and many Jews do not recognize him as the Christ (Messiah). That, I believe, is a great pity, because they are losing on the One they have been waiting for and condemning themselves.

How come do you like this clip so much, Olof?

I think this film is one of the best "Jesus films" ever.

This scene that I linked to at youtube is beautiful in many ways. The soldier´s who whips Jesus, and the horses that snorts in worry by the sound of every hit. Or when Jesus after the whipping, enters Pilate's visitor room, all scared and weak, but still holding up. Many questions probably went through Pilate´s mind as he watched Jesus that day. Who is this man? Why don´t he defend himself? Don't he know that I have the power to free him from being crucified? But I believe he was as an lamb ready to be slaughtered (by free will), as it was written of him in Old Testament prophets - God´s suffering servant and offering lamb.

Like you say Cruiser, I do hope the Jews, and all people, some day realize who Jesus is. And also that Jesus wasn't just a historical person that they crucified, but that he rose from death after three days, and still are alive. Though he is not present always with his physical body, I believe he sits today in heaven by Gods right side. The jews (and the rest of us) still have every chance turn to Jesus the Messiah, and meet our savior - Jesus of Nazareth God's son.

Since we also somewhat in philosophical discussion, i think that the teachings of Jesus show us that God is everywhere, because it is everything. Why not with violence, exploitation, greed, war, that we in approximate of Him. Only with love, for everything that represents God. cheers
And be happy!

I´m not sure I understand you´r last sentences Gaucho.

I think God is within all his creation, since the bible says that nothing created is apart from him. But still I wouldn't say God is merely created things, since I think God is the Creator and not the created.

While we still have Sunday, I wanted to share with you that today I got baptised.

Baptism is a public confession of faith in Jesus being the Messiah who died for our sins as a ransom for many. It involves admitting that one is a sinner and that we need forgiveness that only the Lord Almighty can provide. Christians believe that Jesus is in one with the Lord and the Holy Spirit (Trinity).

I had a testimony that I said to the people there and then was laid under the water as a symbol of dying to the old path of living and starting of the new life that is to come. When? On the last day, when Jesus raise us from the death and judge us.

Imagine if you die and later stand in front of the Lord and he asks you: "Why shall I take you to the kingdom of heaven?". What would you reply? Some may say that they have been good people. Have you? Have you not sinned? Or is there some kind of scales that compare your good and bad deeds in life? That sounds terrifying - I would have never pass such test! What uncertainty it would bring to our lives!

Imagine you are a parent and your child gets caught in a crime. Would you not offer yourself to come and suffer the punishment yourself to set your child free? Similarly, Jesus, who is in fact God, came as a human being to offer himself to be the Lamb to be slaughtered for the wickedness of our hearts.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

And that is what baptism is about. Giving praise to what Jesus Christ did for us, humankind, that He is the one who died for our sins. As a result, we can be set free and rejoice with Him at the last day.

John 6:63 "The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life."

Thank you for reading.
